Student grants

General terms

ESSIR 2011 will contribute to the expenses of some full-time students and PhD students attending the School by awarding a limited number of grants. Grant applicants are requested to submit:

  • one-page CV including full personal data, details of academic career, and contact email
  • one-page explanation for a) why the applicant wants/needs to attend ESSIR 2011, and b) why he demands funding support
  • proof of student status / PhD student status (e.g. copy of valid student ID, matriculation confirmation, written confirmation by PhD supervisor)
  • optional recommendation letters (e.g. from PhD supervisors or professors from the home university)

Fulltime students currently enrolled in bachelor/master/diploma programs are also requested dto submit

  • a recent copy of the Transcript of Records from home university (i.e. an overview of attended lectures/seminars with scores/marks achieved so far)

All files of the grant application must be in PDF format, they must not exceed 5 Mb in total. Grant applications must be directed with subject line "ESSIR'11 grant application" to the Email address

In order to make use of the granted support, the successful applicant must register to ESSIR 2011 (including payment of participation fees) and successfully attend the entire School program. Detailed instructions on grant claiming will be sent to successful applicants together with grant notification.
